Despite the rain, Wanda Jackson rocked the capacity crowd with a riveting set that showcased her career from the 50s to the present day. She sang, belted and wailed her way through numbers like Mean Mean Man, Let’s Have A Party and a wild Riot In Cell Block Number Nine. She was backed by a knockout combo including Wes McGee on guitar and Paul Riley (Nick Lowe) on bass/vocals. She slowed the pace a couple of times and announced that she’d brought her sound rocking into the now with The White Stripes’ Jack White producing and issuing her new album. She treated the audience to highlights, finishing with Shakin’ All Over and three encores. A rocking legend!
