Created in the mid-80s to reissue rare soul tracks, the Urban label evolved to eventually release a series of new releases of its own. Now Universal has reissued a range of rare singles from the label in the classic Urban house bag, complete with the original B-side to each. There are 12 in all, including Bobby Byrd’s I Know You Got Soul; James Brown’s Payback; the Final Mixdown version of the same and She’s The One; Kool & The Gang’s Funky Stuff, The JBs’ The Grunt, plus further releases from The Jackson Sisters, Maceo & The Macks, Marva Whitney, Roy Ayers, James Taylor Quartet and the Urban All Stars.
