You know what you’re gonna get with Megadeth: mainly mid- and up-tempo melodic metal, with classy dual-guitar action from Dave Mustaine and Glen Drover, over rifling beats topped with often polemical lyrics and snarly vocal delivery. That sums up the 11 tracks here and, while it will please many, there’s not much in the way of variety in eitherconcept or sound. Hence, Sleepwalker sets out the stall with its typically insistent percussive drive and chugging guitars, before the latter take over and crank up the pace. There are spoken-word segments on the likes of the title track, including the balladic A Tout Le Monde (en Franais), while Blessed Be The Dead recalls the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse (well, I never) and Play For Blood provides the best the formula has to offer.
