Although billed and produced as a punk band, Liberty were not afraid to throw other musical styles into the mix to either make a point or vary the standard punk structures to maximise shock value. Their scope ranges across music played to a monologue, ska punk or a surprisingly beautiful harmony sequence on the harshly-titled Fuck Off You Junkie Bastards. Take a look at the sleeve and you won’t be surprised to hear that there’s a fair amount of political posturing on the album, most obviously in their ‘meat is murder’ stance. Morrissey would be proud of Liberty’s equation of meateating with pornography.
