The Damned
Bristol Thekla Social Club

View: tip-toes at the back

The Damned played to a tightly-packed audience in a sweaty riverside tub, following two burlesque dancers who raised temperatures with feathers and tassels! Captain Sensible and Dave Vanian then strolled on and proved to be on form, with a well balanced set of classics and newer songs, plus enjoyable oddities like Dozen Girls and Generals.

They also played Eloise (why?) and everyone’s favourite, Disco Man. No Damned gig in Bristol seems to go off without a hitch, and tonight a crash barrier got damaged and had to be removed to improve crowd safety! However, the enforced break didn’t diffuse the energy of band or crowd and everyone went home happy, not least Sensible, who insisted on joking about lovely pairs of Bristols.
