In among the 400 or so souls here, there were familiar faces who’d Reviews LIVES been coming along to every show – be it support slots or basement toilets. Now they’ve graduated to a bigger upstairs venue, there’s no doubting The Answer are a good band. And when they hit a groove, they make a righteous noise. However, they’ve still got to write that killer song. They get close with Under The Sky and the ballad, Always, which added a rare moment of respite among the boogie-rock. But it’s the reincarnated blues of Preachin’ that gees up the crowd most, with vocalist Cormac Neeson and guitarist Paul Mahon heading off into it. The encore cover of Sweet Emotion sees them put everything they’ve got into it, as they do every song.
