Bouncing through all the funky styles from bumping R&B (Big Ella) to ghetto disco (Vivian Lee & The Hard Drivers), little here can top Honey & The Bees’ gutsy Love Addict or Barbara Trent’s jazzy version of Heartbreak Hotel – surely one the greatest Elvis covers yet discovered.
