Some suggest Roger Waters is Pink Floyd and, on tonight’s evidence, it’s difficult to argue. Waters can’t be accused of not being a crowd-pleaser and, with the exception of powerful new song Leaving Beirut, sandwiched between opener In The Flesh? and towering encore Comfortably Numb, there were as many Floyd classics (and giant inflatables) as you could wish for. Indeed, the main event was The Dark Side Of The Moon in its entirety, while the most stirring moments were provided by an intense Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun and the goose-bump inducing Shine On You Crazy Diamond. Waters enjoyed every minute, injecting an enthusiasm that was infectious and a million miles away from the alienation of The Wall. The spirit shines on alright.
