New Found Glory - New Found Glory: 10th Anniversary Edition

Old, reissued and loads of fun

It’s hard to believe that a decade has passed since this was released, but NFG’s second album put them bang in the midst of things just when Blink- 182 were starting to turn a little serious and pop-punk swerved away from the punk and toward the weedy pop-pup horrors of Busted and their ilk.

A decade on, and this album is as energetic and bouncy as ever. The vocal harmonies give it a bit of polish, while Hit Or Miss shows off Jordan Pundik and the boys in fine Descendents-influenced form. To entice lapsed, or long-term fans into re-buying a disc that’s never been off store shelves, there’s a host of extras. Seven bonus tracks are added, including demos of The Radio Song, Better Off Dead and All About Her – all previously unreleased – and So Many Ways and The Minute I Met You, previously available on the soundtrack to Clockstoppers. There’s also a remix of Hit Or Miss (Waited Too Long) by the much-missed Jerry Finn, a producer who was so instrumental in shaping the pop-punk sound. A The Story So Far DVD adds all videos, live footage and interviews. Nothing new under the sun, of course, but still loads of fun to make you forget you’re supposed to be a grown-up these days.
