At least someone’s paying attention to us, as this is the second T.Rex entry in Vinyl Collector in a matter of months. Yes, as RC is wont to trumpet (see issues 324 and 341), Bolan fans still like their Bopping Pixie on wax. This 1,000-only LP covers a gig recorded just as Bolan and co touched down in the UK from a US tour. With nary a pause for breath, he races trough the likes of Cadillac, Cosmic Dancer, Telegram Sam and Get It On, grunts the girls into a screaming wibble on Spaceball Ricochet and flits from electric guitar to acoustic and back again, totally mastering the crowd and the stage. It’s a pretty basic package, though, with just the sleeve and the insert, and nothing in the way of notes. As an example of Bolan’s raw, unfettered live prowess, however, it does the job.
