Lily Allen
Dublin O2

Lily Allen performed to probably the largest headline crowd of her career, and they were grateful. Although there was little engagement from her, her concession was pouring and handing out pints of Guinness from the stage! Part way through the set, she and her band took on a jazz-room feel, both in staging and sound, with Who’d Have Known through to Dreams. Not surprisingly, the evening then got political with Kabul Shit, but the popular zenith was the well-liked Smile and The Fear, though an unnecessary interlude from Professor Green enabled her to give us a great version of SOS Band’s Just Be Good To Me. The female-heavy audience lapped up the encore of Britney’s Womaniser, before Allen left the stage to Fuck You – potentially a wry nod at the Dublin audience – though she returned to finish with a great It’s Not Fair.
