A full house greeted Italian sextet Lacuna Coil, who launched into their 16-song set with Our Truth. Soaring vocals from Cristina Scabbia on To The Edge were followed by vocal trade-offs and the infectious offbeat chops of I Won’t Tell You. Next up, Kill The Light, a new song from Dark Adrenaline (out late January), was well received. The mid-set highlight was the chorus of Heaven’s A Lie, while a rare airing of Without Fear from 2006’s Karmacode was a sweet surprise.
A mix of slower-paced ballads, powerful bass grooves and multifaceted guitar tones led to fan-pleasers, Fragile, and the beautifully re-crafted Enjoy The Silence. An encore of Survive, Trip The Darkness, and Spellbound brought the show to an energetic close and triggered a desire to hear more. Buonissimo!
