Tom Chaplin et al kicked off amid florescent lights with the Simple Minds-like The Lovers Are Losing and flitted through another 19 numbers over 100 minutes, the visuals and sonic clarity impressive, if never attaining the wall of sound of the likes of Coldplay. Still, the quartet emulated them on Bend And Break, chipped in the anthemic Everybody’s Changing, and proceeded with Bowie-esque tones into the piano balladry of A Bad Dream and chiming chorale of This Is The Last Time. An acoustic spot on the runway featuring a sweet Sunshine was followed by the soaring A Heart To Hold You and U2-esque Perfect Symmetry, before the singalong Somewhere Only We Know and strobe-embellished Crystal Ball. A four-song encore included Is It Any Wonder and the finale of Bedshaped.
