Starting with I Was Never Crazy from behind a curtain, Katie’s voice soared and captured the audience – a great piece of theatricality that had me hooked. Touring The Flood, she aired a lot of tracks from it, along with a selection of past hits, which made two hours fly by. The Flood material is more rocky and edgy than her previous sets, and some songs stood out, particularly the title track, with some great back projections. At one point, a cascade of heavyweight bubbles descended on her, while her band were accomplished and perfectly balanced with her vocals. A guest appearance from Beth Rowley singing Wonderful World as a duet was a bonus, and with Nine Million Bicycles one of the encores, this was a five-star show.
