The death of Grant McLennan last year ended one of the more successful recent reformations, with The Go-Betweens mining a rich seam on mature wonderful albums Bright Yellow Bright Orange (2003) and Oceans Apart (2005). One of the last things McLennan did before his death was personally select 13 songs from the four solo albums he recorded between 1991 and 1997. These have been neglected works and the romantic lilt of Haven’t I Been A Fool and the compelling Black Mule from 1991’s Watershed, and Hot Water from Horsebreaker Star (1994) showcase a sensitive songwriter
