Although they’ve only got a couple of CDs under their belt, there’s already a buzz about this hard rock quintet, led by blonde bombshell Julie Westerlake. With impressive pipes and a Parton-like build, she wails from the off, the Zeppelin-like Bringing Me Down rousing a clapalong from the spartan all-ages crowd. The pounding dual-guitar riffage continues through Confession and the uptempo Big Star (with Julie’s top end impressing), before Look Away goes for the jugular and new song, I Know, kicks arse. Book Of Names’ chugging fret work gives way to an encore led by Dio’s Rainbow In The Dark, before a one-two finish including I’ve Been Waiting, which tempers the pace. Only 50 minutes, but a showcase of fine things to come.
