The German power-metal quartet fronted by Chris Bay steamed on stage at 9pm and rattled out a pumped-up 95-minute, 16-song set that raised the rafters. Showcasing new cuts from the relatively laid-back Legend Of The Shadowking, interspersed with storming catalogue classics, they opened with the clapalong We Are One and pulse-raising United Alliance. Pogo was induced on the Maiden-esque gallop of Tears Of Babylon, while plastic swords were gyrated to the gothic Blackened Sun. Other standouts included the speed metal Out Of The Ruins, the air-punching Metal Invasion and grin-inducing Far Away. A Merlin suite and pumping Land Of Light were followed by the band’s eponymous closer, with the room united as one. Sterling stuff!
