Diana Ross & The Supremes/The Temptations - Diana Ross & The Supremes Join The Temptations

Successful TV spin-off

This album sprouted from a TV
collaboration between the two
titans of soul, on the show TCB
(Taking Care of Business),
which aired in 1968 and
featured a mixture of popular
songs and Motown hits. This
exploitative LP hit the mark in
terms of quality, featuring a
successful remake of Marvin
Gaye’s Try It Baby and Otis
Williams’ smooth rendition of
This Guy’s In Love With You. It
also saw the introduction of The
Temptations’ new lead singer,
Dennis Edwards, who replaced
David Ruffin in 1968.
