Now 63, the besuited Colin and his quartet kicked off a 95- minute, 20-song set with Turn Your Heart Around, and showcased his latest, The Ghost Of You And Me, running through the dreamy Oxygen before a singalong What Becomes Of The Broken Hearted and acoustic Caroline Goodbye. The title track to Colin’s new set maintained momentum, before the laidback Feels Like Rain, while Say You Don’t Mind closed the first half in reposed fashion. Returning after 20 minutes, the band rendered the thumping piano of Wonderful and the gospelly Beginning/Keep The Curtain Closed, with Keith Airey’s guitar and fine organ to the fore. The ploddy blues of Andorra was followed by the rock’n’roll of Follow and Tim Hardin’s Misty Roses, before an upbeat new song, Any Other Way. A heartfelt APP classic, Old And Wise, had one and all in song, and a corking hard rock take on The Zombies’ She’s Not There was followed by an acoustic Miracles.
