The whispers had been growing: “Mick’s here”. And, suddenly, he was on stage, he and younger brother Chris dueting on Dead Flowers. It was eerie. Visually, a mirror image, vocally it was like an echo as the Jagger boys harmonised, one playing acoustic guitar, the other clapping as if doing Satisfaction. The band provided the perfect backing, honed through Chris’s cajuntinged world-country, Charlie Hart notable alongside youthful guitarist Jim Mortimore. Then, Mick was off to the back for a drink, anxious not to hog the limelight, leaving little brother to wow with more intelligent, rocking music.
