While there are those who’ll always point to the early, bluesier rock of Whitesnake as their true heyday, there’s no denying that 20 years ago, 1987 saw the former Purple singer blow away his past once and for all. The 10- song selection is a nearperfect example of Whitesnake’s melodic rock craft, bristling with mellifluous vocals and guitar lines, sweeping percussive touches and their trademark cheeky swagger. Plus, it was all topped off by period MTV-friendly sub-porn promo videos (filmed with the then-missus).
It’s a case of “here’s one for you” times 10, from the classic Still Of The Night opening calling card to a retread on Here I Go Again.
