YOUNG AT HEART

Many thanks for the article on David Bowie’s Young Americans album (RC 332) – a truly wonderful recording which, like so many of Bowie’s records, sounds as fresh and exciting today as it did when it was first released.

Readers who enjoyed the RC article may be interested to read my own research on the subject on (www.theyoungamerican.co.uk). The site aims to document Bowie’s time in America, including the live shows and television appearances. It also presents background information to the recording of the album, gathered from numerous press articles from the time, as well as personal contributions from Tony Visconti, Harry Maslin and David Bowie himself.

Readers may also like to know that the forthcoming EMI Collectors Edition of Young Americans restores the bonus tracks found on the earlier EMI/ Ryko re-issues, although the track It’s Gonna Be Me will be a previously unheard version, featuring a string arrangement by Tony Visconti.
