TAKE THE SEATRAIN
Mike Hurst says (Oldies RC 337) that Seatrain is one of his favourite albums and he ‘treasures it because no one else has got it’. Sorry to disappoint you Mike but I also have that album and I also treasure it because I think it is brilliant as well! (I trust Mike is referring to the 1968 album on A & M and not the follow up album released in 1970 on Capitol, with an almost complete change of line up, which was produced by George Martin).
I have been trying to obtain a CD copy for many years now as my vinyl copy has seen better days. It was released on CD but I think they only made 10 copies or less because I have never been able to find it! The second Seatrain album and the third one, Marblehead Messenger, are available on CD but are not in the same class as the first one!
