FEMALE EMAIL
Are there any articles in RC pertaining to pure pop rather than rock or AOR? It needs far more features about the artists whose material was female-fan friendly. I don’t necessarily mean a new release, because new releases aren’t available in my area (the West Midlands) when I call into stores. I mean the recordings originally purchased by the majority of the nation’s female pop fans within the last 50 years.
I think it depends on your point of view. A lot of girls were heavily into The Beatles, Elvis, Helen Shapiro, etc, and soul was overwhelmingly bought by that gender in the 60s and 70s, all of which we cover. The majority of hardcore UK collectors are into rock, so we focus on it. But RC covers other genres when the opportunity arises.
