EVEN MORE SEATRAIN
Following up Stan Rankin’s letter in RC 339, Seatrain certainly played to one substantial audience in the UK – they appeared on Top Of The Pops in 1971 to promote the single release of the title track from Marblehead Messenger! An obscure band? On that basis, they could claim to have been seen by more people in the UK than Led Zeppelin or The Clash ever were… Incidentally, I’d like to see some serious coverage of TOTP in RC, especially its early years. I suspect that the list of artists who’ve performed on it would surprise many of us (A new book does just that – see review page 113. – Ed).
