EARTH TO SKATEBOARD

Re Kingsley Abbott’s article on Skateboarding songs (RC351). There is also Skateboard, a track on Jefferson Starship’s LP Earth from 1978. It was co-written by Grace Slick (below) and guitarist Craig Chaquico who was a keen skateboarder. There is a great photo of him on his board in the book There Must Be A Better Way about the Knebworth and Bath festivals. I went to the 1978 Knebworth festival when Jefferson Starship played and I believe the photo was taken prior to the group’s appearance.
