There was a notable omission from the Top 21 Blur Rarities (RC 403): the 1992 single Popscene. The only single they released in that year (apart from the Wassailing Song freebie), it stiffed. They promoted it with a blistering appearance on Channel 4’s The Word – well worth viewing on YouTube – and released it around the time of the Rollercoaster gigs with Jesus & Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine and Dinosaur Jr in April 1992. The RRPG values the four-track 12” at £20 and the three-track, £15.
