BAKER’S WALTZ FOR A PIG
I enjoyed the interview with Ginger Baker (RC358) but he was a bit confused in his recollection of the Who B-Side the Graham Bond Organization recorded. It was not Ode To A Toad, which is a good title by the way, but was Waltz For A Pig, which appeared on the flip side of Substitute and earned Ginger enough money to buy a car. In Value Added Facts, Lennart Wrigholm brought up the reissue of The Roulette’s Stakes And Chips. GI Records was a store in Edinburgh. I visited it in 1983 and it was great. They released some records, including Stakes And Chips and I believe Brian Hogg (music historian and author) may have had some involvement with them. It was, as Lennart said, in a plain white sleeve with no liner notes but it certainly filled a void for those of us who kept missing out on auctions of the original release, until the album came out on CD.
