A NIGHT AT THE UPROAR
I’ve been reading your mag for 25 years, since I was 15. I saw the letter about memorabilia given by a relative (RC 397), and whilst not in the same league, I was given a nice item. Queen were the first band I got into and my aunt and cousins emigrated to South Africa in the early 80s before the infamous Sun City gigs. My parents returned from a visit last month and knowing I was a fan, brought back a programme from one of these gigs which my cousin had attended. There was a Mint condition ticket as well. The programme is a bit worn but has the Sun City logo in the corner which other programmes from the tour don’t, and it’s interesting memorabilia from a controversial gig. I do not know if these are rare (they were football crowd-sized gigs) or of significant value, but it’s an unusual addition to my collection that I wouldn’t have considered looking for.
